Redfish on FIRE

Redfish on FIRE

It’s a scorcher here in Southern Louisiana with temperatures into the high 90s and early afternoon thunderstorms. However, we have been able to avoid the mid-day heat.

The bite has been fantastic early in the morning and late in the evening. All of our boats hit their redfish limits early, before the sun gets up in the sky, with most boats limiting out by 7:00AM. After that, it’s on to catch & release. The bite is also strong for black drum and sheepshead.

We’ve been catching using both fresh bait and artificial lures. Bulls have been showing up in the shallows, and are being caught on spoons in numbers with some effort. It’s a little work, and nothing is a guarantee, but the bulls we’re reeling in are worth the hunt!

Overall, the summer bite has been amazing; we can’t wait for what the fall has to offer.
