April Fishing Recap – Looking toward May!

April Fishing Recap – Looking toward May!

Louisiana Fishing Charters Fishing Report:

April was good to us at Griffin Fishing, despite the back and forth weather this month. We found most success with artificial baits, and fishermen who have perfected their cast were able to reel in the big ones by hitting directly in front of the fish. Lots of large bull reds were mixed in with those right at slot and just below – a good sign for months to come! We also saw some good sized speckled trout, and black drum and sheepshead in numbers.

Fishing in May should be the best so far for 2018! Stable, warmer weather and less cold fronts should have fish willing to cooperate. The opening of our local shrimp season means market shrimp will be available, allowing for a shrimp bite. Spinners & Spoons should also continue to produce redfish catches. Now is the time to come on down to Griffin for a fishing adventure! Call us to book now (504) 689-7588
