Griffin Fishing – July 2021 – Louisiana Fishing Report

Ready to get in on the Action?

Griffin Fishing has been slammed busy for Spring and start of Summer at the fishing lodge! It has been wonderful to meet so many new people and see plenty of familiar faces return to the lodge for reschedules from Spring 2020. The redfish bite has been at it’s peak! Our brag board has seen primarily redfish, but also black drum, sheepshead, and some huge catfish. We’ve done catch and release trips for bull reds, black drum, and even a couple gators grabbed the line.

About this time each year, we slow down some for the heat of the South Louisiana Summer, but the redfish bite remains strong. July and August are great months for younger kids or any first time fishermen. In the hot months, we start early in the morning, and we typically use dead bait, mostly shrimp, fishing on the bottom where the reds are hanging out in cooler water in the deeper bays. There are limited summer dates available; please contact us to see what is open!

A quick note for anyone looking for a fall trip: please don’t hesitate to call now! Spots are almost gone! We are already taking reservations for 2022 dates!
