Griffin Fishing – Louisiana Fishing Report – August 2020

We hope everyone is doing well in this crazy year! Griffin’s Lodge is open, and the fishing has been great throughout the summer.

Lately, the fish are biting extremely well in the early morning and tapering off as the morning progresses. This is the typical summertime catch for us here in South Louisiana – sunrise limits! It’s an early start in the dark, but no complaints when the cooler is full before the sun gets too hot!

Our guides are currently having the most success with dead shrimp on jigheads…perfect for kids and recreational fishermen. This is where quick quantities of fish are brought it. For those willing to put in a little more work, we also are doing some sight fishing in the marsh for the bigger reds.

Big bull black drums with mixed in bull reds are biting now, too! Please ask when booking about adding on an afternoon bull trip! This is a great afternoon add-on to your charter after limiting our in slot sizes redfish.

If you are ready to get out of the house and onto the water, you know where to turn – Griffin Fishing Charters and Lodge!
